Yes, for courses in Heidelberg we offer a health, accident, personal liability and legal expenses insurance at 1.50 Euros per day.

The minimum age for our programmes in Heidelberg is 17 but we can recommend partner schools that offer courses for children and teenagers.

The climate in Heidelberg is very mild all year round. In winter, the average temperature is 2°C (35°F), in summer, 20°C (68°F). In July and August the temperature can raise up to 30°C (86°F).

You can reach the centre of Heidelberg by tram in a few minutes. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the centre.

Unfortunately, there is no free parking near the school or the student residence. We recommend taking public transport.

The average age is 24 years.

Depending on your expenses you will need about 100 – 150 Euros per week.

Courses

Absolute beginners start on specific days. Please refer to the course descriptions for more details. If you already have some knowledge of German you can start any Monday and you will be integrated into one of our courses. For junior courses, please refer to the course descriptions.

Lessons start at 8:30 and finish at 12:00 or 13:00, depending on the number of hours booked. Please refer to the course descriptions for more details.

Each lesson is 45 minutes.

Lessons are based on the communicative approach. We focus on communication and fluency while also training your writing, reading and listening skills.

Please bring paper, pens and a dictionary. You can buy your course book on the first day of the course.

The course book is not included in the course fees. You can buy a book on the first day of the course. It costs between 25 and 35 Euros, depending on course length and level.

Please talk to us if you find your course too easy or too difficult. Our Academic Manager will advise on the most suitable option for you.

Accommodation

You can reach our school in Heidelberg in 30 minutes by public transport.

Beed sheets are provided in the student residence and in host families. Please bring your own towels and, if you stay in the residence, tea towels. For junior courses, please refer to the course descriptions.

Yes, you will get breakfast or half board at the weekend, depending on the type of accommodation booked. Junior courses include full board.

If you stay in the student residence please arrive between 18:00 and 20:00. If you stay with a host family please discuss your arrival time with your family in advance. Departure is by 10:00. For junior courses, please refer to the course descriptions.
