Never afraid of a challenge, Mick chose Russia as a country which, despite the uncertainties of the 1990s, was opening itself up and developing fast. Originally, Mick said, he gave himself a couple of years in Russia but he stayed and stayed to become our longest-serving teacher.<br> <br> Mick particularly loved teaching teenagers and he did many sessions at summer camp, again proving an endless resource of ideas and support in the often frenzied camp atmosphere. We were lucky that Mick could share his knowledge in seminars and an annual IH event in Ukraine which he attended several times. On top of this, Mick was also a conscientious and active teachers' representative, making sure that teachers as individuals and as a body got the fairest possible deal.&nbsp;<br> <br> Moscow became a second home for Mick and he will be missed sorely here by his many friends and colleagues.
